The National Geographic Magazine, later reduced to National Geographic, published its first edition nine months after the company was founded as a company in the official gazette, a benefit for membership of the tax-exempt status National Geographic Society. The magazine was for many years a registered trademark yellow border around the edge of its coverage.

There are 12 monthly issues of National Geographic per year, plus at least four other map supplements. On rare occasions, special issues of the magazine are also created. The magazine contains articles on geography, the popularization of science, world history, culture, news and photography of places and things around the world and the universe. The National Geographic magazine is currently published in 31 language editions in many countries around the world. Combined English and other languages of movement is nearly nine million per month with over fifty million readers each month.

Other publications

In addition to its flagship magazine, the Society publishes five other newspapers in the United States:

* National Geographic Kids: launched in 1975 as National Geographic World, the name was changed in 2001. It has a circulation of more than US 1 1 / 2 million. There are currently 18 local editions of the language NG Kids, with another half-million in circulation. An Arabic edition of the children's magazine was launched in Egypt in early 2007, and more than 42000 copies are distributed to all public schools in Egypt, plus one copy, 15000 sales. More recently, an Albanian edition was launched.
* National Geographic Little Kids: for children aged 3-6.
* National Geographic Traveler: launched in 1984. There are seven language editions of NG Traveler.
* National Geographic Adventure: Launched in 1999
* National Geographic Explorer: Class magazine launched in 2001, National Geographic for Kids, which has grown by about 2 1 / 2 million circulation.

The Company also manages an outlet online news, National Geographic News [6].

The Company has previously published:

* The National Geographic School Bulletin, the magazine similar to National Geographic, but aimed at primary school children, has been published every week during the school year of 1919 1975, when he was replaced by the National Geographic World.
* During the years 1980 and 1990, it published a review of research that is then closed.

The Company has also published maps, atlases, and many books.

In October 2007, National Geographic has created a new media group in the world composed of its magazine, book publishing, television, film, music, radio, digital media and maps of units. Tim Kelly, 51, president and CEO of National Geographic Ventures, has been named president, Global Media.
